The Making of Valentino SS2013

Another Paris Fashion Week has come and gone, and the Valentino spring/summer 2013 collection did not disappoint, as usual. Designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli have been instrumental in transforming Valentino prêt-à-porter into chic, modern—and covetable—clothing and accessories for the under-50 set. Mention Rockstuds, and I can guarantee the heart palpitations fashionable ladies are having aren’t related to a fantasy scene starring a hot rock singer in leather pants.

As part of her highly addictive and extremely well-done Pardon My French series, the affable Garance Doré (with sidekick Anna Dello Russo) gives us an rare behind-the-scenes look at the making of the collection that just debuted on the runway.

If you didn’t see the show, you can watch a replayof Valentino SS2013 Livestream from Paris.

PS: Can you see why the clothing is so expensive? All that hand beading and sewing…the exquisite laces and fabrics…the attention to detail. It is absolute art, pure and simple.

I agree…I don’t usually like to regurgitate news and posts from other blogs, but I just love Garance’s videos! Hope you’re well!

Fantastic video – these two had such a big job to fill the shoes of Valentino himself and they have done amazingly! All that beauty on hangers – sigh! How do you “edit out” from so much beauty??
