WVW: Pseudo Tom Ford*

When I spotted this dress in a Zara lookbook, it’s the one thing I knew I had to go back for again and again until it materialized. I don’t know if it was sheer determination or that the universe knew this dress was made for me, but I happened to hit the site and snag one before it sold out.

*WVW = What V Wore
Dress: Zara (since it’s sold out, there are lots of fun Forever Unique party dresses that might fit the bill!)
Necklace: H&M (similar) • Booties: Mika by Trouvé • Sunnies: Christian Dior

It’s not so much the OTT, ultra-long fringe that captivated me, it’s the fact that this is probably as close as I’ll ever get to one of Tom Ford’s exquisite fringed creations. So I had to have it. And while it’s not the easiest dress to wear (vanity isn’t easy anyway), the statement-making potential? Uh, off the charts! Wore it to a swanky bar in the city with Hubby and he loved it and people stared at me like I was Cousin It.

PS: Cameron, reprieve from the black? No such luck.

  1. (Triple) WOow V, this dark(ilicious) finery achieves to make you look like a “BODacious Witch” Here I can’t help BUT say (§ widely approve) Dear (“both scalding hot § freezing cold beads of sweat , because her sorcery can be full of outstanding virtualities”) !

  2. Wow, V. This is amazing! You look straight from the runway. You are the perfect person to wear it and you styled it well so it looks a lot more expensive than the Zara price tag. Now we just need a video of the fringe in action!

  3. O.MY.GAWD V you look ridiculously HOT! Always such a vamp hun…this dress is CRAYZY killer! Swingin’ 60’s meets Twilight chic! I could totally see Bella all hot and bothered in this ensemble…oh Edward, where you be?!?

I’m hosting 5 days of GIVEAWAYS in honor of my blog’s 2yr anniversary…would love for you to stop by and enter to win!

    1. HAAAA, thanks, babe! It is kinda Twilight chic, isn’t it? Though I think it’s Edward that would be hot and bothered!

Coming over to see you, stat.

  4. Hi Vahni, you look so good! I’ve missed you! I’m reading the Twitter conversation going on right now about blogging trends and once again love your clear-as-a-bell writing (in 140 characters or less, girl you are an artist) about how to balance your blogging time with the rest of your life. Well done, as always. As for the dress, yowza. I don’t know why Tom Ford can’t just be a pal and read your blog and SEND YOU A DRESS. Come on, Tom! Be a friend! In the meantime, you look so good in this one. I understand why people were staring! XO, Jill

  5. Sometimes staring is a good thing…and TOTALLY so in your case! GIRLLLLL..you are a stunner in this fringed number. Love everything.

  6. Wowsers glossy locks! I was so close to buying the dip dye version of the TRF Zara dress yesterday…. we could have been fringe sisters! Ha! I hadn’t been in Zara for a while so I was just grabbing everything and then had to reason with myself and put a lot of things down! I was really good actually and walked out with a pair of cobalt high waist shorts.

    Hope you’re well koukla.

  7. I’d get tangled in the tassles!

Suits you thought. Great look. I don’t think you need to get away from black when you rock it so well!

  8. I love everything in Zara! From shorts, pants, bags and dresses! That black dress you’re wearing is so sexy and beautiful! Nice photos huh? Love it really!

  9. WOW….that dress is ‘totes amaze’. Working in ‘fashion’ I’ve actually heard people say that in an un-ironic way. I’m glad you’re back around the blog a bit more lately and I love your insightful tweets during the blog trends chat every week. You’re a gem!
