I’ve been on quite a little beauty product kick lately, haven’t I? Please indulge me a little longer, lovelies. I promise to return to OOTD posts very soon.
In Lipstick: Faves, Tips, and Tricks, I shared my love of Maybelline’s Color Sensational Lipcolor in Are You Red-dy—a luxurious, long-lasting red that finally put my hunt for the perfect red lippie to an end. I also confessed that although red lipstick tends to bleed more than any other color, I do not use lipliner with it because I’ve never liked the way liners change the color of my lipstick.
Well. Thanks to star commenters Ashe of Dramatis Personae, and Courtney of Those Graces, I learned of a lipliner that could potentially solve the issue of “bleeding” lipstick, with no change to lipstick color whatsoever. Yes, darlings it is true. Finally, in the 21st century, our lipstick prayers have been answered with the invention of clear lipliner.
This is my review/demo of the one-and-only lipliner you’ll ever need: Maybelline Color Sensational Lipliner in #10 Clear. I just streamlined your cosmetics drawer—no need for five different shades of lipliner anymore!

Oooh, a drugstore brand too! The only version I know of was a Sephora purchase, and I just couldn’t justify spending $20 on lip liner when I don’t wear lipstick so often….

I have never heard of a clear lipliner! How absolutely brilliant, and I love that it’s Maybelline (translation: fits perfectly into my skimpy make-up budget). I’ll certainly check it out.

I always use a lip brush to apply my red lipstick but you’re right – not the most practical for re-applying. I’ve heard people mention clear lipliner for years but after a rave review I need to run out and get one!

How exciting! I’m glad the clear lipliner worked for you. I just ran out of mine a few weeks ago and have been on the hunt for a Revlon replacement, but it’s been hard to find one! I don’t personally use Maybelline due to their animal testing status, but, that aside, I don’t doubt that the product is great.

I’ve had a clear liner for years that I only ever wear with red. Mine isn’t Maybelline but it really is a great product – an essential in every girls’ make-up bag!

Loved your video, V! I don’t ever wear lipliner, but I’ll definitely pick this up if I can find it and try it out. It sounds like a great product!
Also, I like the look of bare nails sometimes. I think it’s a refreshing change once in a while, even though I’m addicted to doing my nails!

Bare nails are refreshing sometimes, I agree. I supposed I like them polished not just for the color, but for the extra protection polish provides against tears and breaks. Funny, while I waited for the video to upload to YouTube, I got them all polished again!

LOVE IT!! I’m going to out and get some because lip liner is something I never had any luck with because I’m always trying to match the color with the lipstick and it tends to be very drying. But a clear lip liner?? That’s perfect! I also have the clear mascara that Courtney put me on too awhile ago that I have to try!

I too hate dry lipliners and long-wearing lipsticks always seem to be really dry too. Your nails looked fine – like someone mentioned before> it could have been a French. Thanks, sugar! iMovie is fairly easy. It has its limitations, but it is far better than anything else I’ve used in terms of producing short vids quickly and easily. It takes a long, long time to upload to YouTube from the iPad, though. Next time I may try to get it onto my PC and then upload.

I love Maybelline Lip glosses since they’re so reasonably priced and yummy so I’m thrilled to add to my stock from this brand. I tried my friend’s iPad a while ago and have to say it was addictive; the apps, the size and the clarity was superb. And now I see it takes great movie clips too. I tend to sell my old iStuff on ebay. I take really good care of my stuff, so I get a pretty high return. Elsewise, I do what you do- pass them onto the parents. My parents still have dumbphones, so I am considering passing the iPhone 3G onto my mother or father, so they can get with the times.
My father bought an iPad 1 a few months ago, and I was like…. SAY WUT. Not common for my “we only use microsoft office” parents.

I purchased clear lip liner from Sephora years and years ago but didn’t really like it. I haven’t tried the Color Sensational lip liners because I like the kind that twist up (Revlon’s liner is really nice that way.) but I do like the Color Sensational lipsticks to I think I’ll have to try that liner!

Great video. I really like using the lip liner over all of my lips instead of lining because if my lipstick comes off there’s no line around my lips because all of my lips are covered. My go to lip passions have been from Bare Escentuals. Love Buxom and lip naturals.
