Links à la Mode: IFB Weekly Roundup, April 28

More than Meets the Eye

Edited by Fajr Muhammad at Stylish Thought

When you visit a fashion blog you often see a stylish blogger posing in a perfectly, put together outfit with gorgeous scenery. What you don’t see is the work that goes into curating and maintaining a fashion blog. This week the theme across IFB was outfit posts: what deems an outfit worthy, what goes into creating a stunning visual post and ultimately the comments (some not so nice) that we receive as style bloggers. Ultimately, blogging is a way to express our love for fashion and personal style but as this week’s links can attest to, there is much more to fashion blogging than meets the eye.

  1. Yay you’re back!!! I’m so happy! I hope you are doing ok. 🙂

I completely agree with the above. My blog is simply my journal where I like to express my personal style and share my Mel Made projects!! It’s a place where I can vent about my love affair for fashion!

Great post… as always!!! 🙂 Glad you’re back!

  2. Hey V, hope your doing ok! I was thinking about you just now as I replied to a tweet you put up ages ago. Reason being Ive been on twitter but I never really gotten the hang of it. I didn’t have a phone that allowed me to use it, so I only used it on the computer at home (not ideal Ive discovered) Well happy friggin days I got an iphone and promptly downloaded hootsuite (I remember you mentioning it several times and how great it was) So thank you!! (it is in fact wonderful)
On a side note, have you ever done a post on how to use twitter to its full advantage?? (this was really the whole point of the comment, just took awhile to get there) xx

    1. Thanks, Jessica! So glad you like Hootsuite too. I’d be lost without it. Seesmic runs a close second, if you’re ever looking for another alternative.

  3. I am so happy your post is on Links a la Mode!!! Hopefully it will really encourage other bloggers to value and build this beautiful community we are all a part of. Yay V! MEGA SUPER YAY!

    1. Thank you Jamillah! For the same reasons, I’m glad it made it too. I’d love to see more bloggers coming together, being there for each other.
