Twitter Tuesday and Evolving Influence in NYC!

Hi lovelies…this is more of a PSA than a proper post. Forgive me. With snow on the ground outside (again), my outfit posts have come to a screeching halt. I know, I know…but I’m not Anika, who regularly shoots with snow on the ground in Oslo! My constitution is accustomed to Southern mildnessβ€”or at least constant climate control. It’s dang cold out there, people! But let’s dispense with the small talk already.

Twitter Tuesday: Glamourously Gritty

I’m still totally excited to be today’s Twitter Tuesday feature on Statements in Fashion. Thank you Collette! If you have a moment, hop on over and check it out. And be sure to show Collette (@colletteosuna) some G&G reader love!

Statements in Fashion readers, if you are new here, welcome! Leave me a note so I can check you out.

WordPress tip: Just discovered the best little plugin: Twitter Highlight. It automatically converts Twitter usernames, hashtags and lists in your pages, posts or comments to a Twitter link. Total timesaver!

IFB Evolving Influence February 10th…I’m so there!

Talk about excited…I just booked my flight to NYC for the Independent Fashion Bloggers Evolving Influence Conference. Every conference gets better and better. Hope to see you all there!

  1. Totally excited about NYFW. Totally bummed that I won’t be there. Again. For the third season. I’ve never been! I’m planning on taking time off during fourth year (perhaps next season) just to attend! Woohoo!

  2. I saw your feature this morning. You deserve all the good things coming your way for sure.
About going to N York to meet you, and other wonderful bloggers, a dream that may come true one day.
Mil besos siempre my dear, dear friend.

  3. I wish it was a weekend so I could make it! oh well, maybe another time! (and I go back to NE just a week after my state’s Style Week- I seem to be just narrowly missing everything haha). Loved your feature on Collette’s blog!

  4. Congrats on the feature. Gonna go check it out before day’s end. And booo! I will not be able to make it out to the Blogger’s conference…although one day I hope I might!
Just read that you won’t be at the Style Nation conference slated for Vegas in March. Again a hearty boo-hoo. I boo. you hoo.

    1. I hooed. You booed. Dang. I’m so sad I won’t get to see you, Bella. You are one of my favorite people (that I’ve never met…isn’t that crazy?)!

One day we’ll meet. I know it. We’re determined ladies…it will happen!

  5. You are, like, insanely well connected! Congrats on this much-deserved feature, and thanks, once again, for giving me more to read.

Also, c’mon V! Suck it up and take some photos in the snow! That gorgeous mane of hair and all your signature black pieces would look even more spectacular against a snowy backdrop. You know I’m right.

    1. Hey, A-Dubs, thank you!

Yeah, I should have sucked it up…just too much going on, and dude, it is SERIOUSLY cold! I wimped out. But I will be resuming outfit posts soon.

  6. I’m wondering the same thing as StyleMeBAD. Where are the details? I doubt I can actually get the time off work though. πŸ™ However, I was looking forward to Vegas because it’s so close to me — did Bella just say you can’t go to that one?! Anyway, congrats on the feature!

    1. Sorry about Vegas, doll. It’s true that I’m not going to be able to make it. And I so wish you could get to NY because the IFB conferences are so informative.

Thanks for your comment…be on the lookout for Evolving Influence details on Jennine will tweet updates from @_IFB.

  7. Wish I could go! I tried to reason it,but then I thought, “If I don’t travel for conferences for work or my other more ‘serious’ interests, then I shouldn’t travel for blogging.” Also, I am always broke. LOL.

I’ll look forward to watching the stream for it, though!

    1. I wish you could too, but the cost factors in for so many. The stream is great, though. I got a lot out of it last season.

  8. I knew it, I knew it! I knew you would be asked to speak at an IFB conference! I am so excited for you and I hope to be there so I can say hi in person.

    1. Thanks, Jill! But to be clear, I have not been asked to speak at the conference. At this point, I’m just an attendee, like everyone else…and looking forward to meeting you and so many others!

  9. Congratulations on the wonderful feature, V!

As for the Evolving Influence Conference – it kills me that I can’t make that. February trips are always out of the question for me because I usually have a ton of Government proposals due. I will be eagerly awaiting and living vicariously through your updates from the conference and NYFW!

    1. Thank you, B! I soooooooo wish we could meet up. One day, I know it!

I’m looking forward to sharing my experience with all of you…so excited!

  10. Hi Vahni, thanks for the shout out, but you know, I live in freakin polarland, so what is a girl to do πŸ™‚ Many congrats on all the love coming your way, I am always so happy to see the spotlight shone on you! It is so wonderful what you did to support Kristy πŸ™‚ I hope you have a fab time in NY, I`ll be there in spirit.

Also, yesterday I took the plunge and bought my own domain, now I am trying to build with wordpress, but honestly, I am finding it hard to find a simple white template that looks good :). I`ll get there I am sure. Thanks for inspiring me to pursue bigger and better things. love, Anika

    1. No worries, hon!

I see you’ve made quite a few changes on your blog…I like! I think the template you are using is so nice and clean. If you can’t find a theme in WP you like, it might be worth it to invest in one. Woo Themes and Elegant Themes have some lovely ones. Do know that even I butt my head against the wall with template and technical challenges. All I can say is when all else fails, Google it!

  11. Congrats on the feature!! You are truly an inspiration!

Is the Conference for all bloggers? or a selected few with a fee? I would love to go!!
