WVW: A Hint of Color*

Maybe Style Underdog’s Color Explosion Birthday Week rubbed off on me. But then again, maybe not. One colored piece hardly a colorful outfit makes.

That’s OK. Mother Nature (and Picnik)Β  handled the rest. Wishing you all a happy Thanksgiving!

*WVW = What V Wore
Bebe coat (circa 1990s), Banana Republic dress, Sam Edleman boots.

    1. Thanks, Lee! Those boots are so OTT, but I love them.

No, I didn’t change my hair color. But in the light (and real life) you can see that the ends are reddishβ€”they’re just faded from the sun, so my hair is kind of ombrΓ©, but I like it like that. The effect on these photos emphasizes the redness.

  2. The colors on your shots are incredible! I love how you pull those boots off and the long coat over them.

Because im sort of shortassed, I cannot wear this type of boots – they make me look even shorter because the top of the boots reaches the hoo-ha area πŸ˜‰ Lol

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    xoxo

  3. The last photo made me go WOW! :O
This is a fabulous shoot! All the colours are so delicious, the flash of purple boots are great too!
And what a beautiful long coat, truly stunning V!!

P.s so glad you loved Holly fultons collection, she has such a unique voice! I’m going to email her company the illustration πŸ™‚

  4. Ha! I love your reference to Picnik. The color in these shots really is spectacular. The leaves in the last shot are gorgeous and I love how your boots just peek out of your long black coat. Gorgeous V! xx

  5. Beautiful color play! I like how that shrub in the background echoes the purple of the boots. You’re still getting some good leaf turning down South, I see. Things are pretty drab in Wisconsin by now, just a few ochre and brown leaves clinging to trees.

  6. Happy birthday week! and happy thanksgiving a day early!!! You look amazing! The pop or purple is great! and I’m guessing those are suede boots. That deep purple in suede material is my fav!!! LOVE IT! xoxox M

  7. The last photo should be printed and framed. It is beautiful. I will not lie V, that color week was tough. I ran out of things to wear by Friday. Now I know, color grounded with neutrals, that’s how I roll. Happy Thanksgiving.

p.s. I’m reading tweeting how-tos so I can understand how to use twitter. Yep, I’m so 2001…

  8. Oh, those boots – they’re just amazing, and this is exactly how I’d wear them, too, letting them be the focus of the outfit: love it! Have a great Thanksgiving πŸ™‚

  9. SUPER photos! Love the pop of purple against the autumnal pallete of the leaves, the sky and the trees. Your coat and dress look almost midnight blue. The last photo is pure poetry.

  10. ahh, i LOVE THIS! there is something about these photos. this crazy chic all black outfit with the rich, tall purple boots, the surroundings, your hair. it’s all so breathtaking. and that coat is making me drool. talk about a timeless purchase… you got it in the 90’s and it looks like it could have come straight out of this month’s fashion magazines. i love that.

    have a happy thanksgiving!!

  11. Oh V this shoot is stunning – first of all I love the little pop of color on your boots, it kinda brings out the color in your hair? Especially in the last pic.

I am also so in awe of the beautiful leaves! Here in Singapore we get two seasons (hot and hotter!) so I’ve never experienced seasons before. You are really lucky to be surrounded by such beauty πŸ™‚ Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving πŸ™‚

    xx Renee

  13. The thing that gets to me Vahni, is that you are so beautiful. Really, you have such a special quality about you that gets to me every time. I think it is your radiance and what I percieve to be your depth and intelligence, your integrity and big heart. I feel you, all the way over here in Oslo.

    1. Aw, Anika! That might be the sweetest compliment I have EVER received. Thank you my lovely. I feel just the same about you, I hope you know that! kisskiss

    1. Thank you Sarah! The coat is (obviously) and old fave. I get so many compliments on it when I wear it. The great thing is it is long and warm and very streamlined…not bulky in the least.

    1. Thank you my dear! The “cosmetic enhancement” was literally the click of one button…all the colors were already there. I just made them a little more saturated.
