WVW: Plaid*

Now you’ve seen what I look like when I wake up in the morning.

Well, almost. That’s my hair on that given morning. Just rolled-out-of-bed, unbrushed, perfect for pictures. I’ve yet to understand why my hair always looks best just out of the gym, or first thing in the morning. Go figure. Oh, and a cute shirt from Target. Couldn’t help myself…it’s kind of Victorian lumberjack.

  5. Yes, yes, yes! I LOVE the plaid shirt with the glamorous flowing maxi skirt AND the lace-up boots. This combo is fab… and of course I just saved a picture to my “inspiration” folder for my December Inspiration Outfit Calendar. πŸ™‚ Thanks, V!!!!!!

  6. I’m loving the tousled bedhead look. I always prefer my hair the day after I wash it. These pictures are gorgeous. The lighting is phenomenal and the way the wind catches your skirt in the first shot is truly breathtaking. xx

  7. Loving the plaid shirt. You pull it off so well. I’m always tempted to try it but I have visions of friends in oversized red plaid shirts and immediately think twice.

  8. I am loving this look! Those boots with Maxi skirt are working wonders and your plaid shirt is definitely worth the grab! πŸ™‚ The last shot is my favorite!

  9. V, you are chanelling good ole Southern style so beautifully (or what I imagine Southern style to have been in the past) Wouldn’t have thought a plaid shirt could look this good.

  10. LOVE it! ‘Am also loving “Victorian lumberjack”. The belted ruffled plaid with the longer skirt and wicked mane of hair is hitting a perfect note for me. I’d have to say it’s one of my favourite WVW looks yet!

    1. Ha! I don’t know. I guess my eyes are always peeled for things with the right look. Or maybe it’s because I’m at Target all the time!

  11. Hayhay!

  12. Your hair is beautiful, I’m quiet envious! and the plaid shirt doesn’t look lumberjackish at all, it looks very feminine with the belt and the long flowing skirt.

  13. Looking fab! Love the Victorian references in this outfit, the frills on the shirt, the lace up boots, the billowing skirt – Victorian lumberjack indeed! What is about hair that when you groom it least sometimes it comes out looking its best!

    1. Thank you Steph! Yeah, you never know. I’m equal opportunity when it comes to clothes. I don’t care what the label says…if it looks like it might work, I’ll give it a whirl. That’s one thing I’ve learned…never assume…just try it on!

  14. LOVE this take on plaid….absolutely stunning!

Talbots is getting a lot of plaid in for this holiday-winter season and I am totally feeling this but of course ;). Being so short and on the curvier side, I have to moderate my plaid wearing much to my constant dismay but there’s always a hint of it somewhere among fall/winter wardrobing and on Christmas Eve every year when I wear my tartan kilt to midnight church service with a black turtleneck, tall blk leather riding boots and dark gray pearls- one tradition that’s so much fun.

    “Victorian Lumberjack” totally rocks V!
