WVW: Purple Reign*

Did the Prince of purple somehow infect my sartorial psyche? I have no other explanation for why in the last couple months, I felt compelled to buy bright purple suede OTK boots (um, yeah, that’s practical), and separately, a cheapie paisley dress in hues of pink and purple.

Whatever the reason(s), last night I finally had the opportunity to rock these boots, and I was so comfy in this look. I went out with a sexy M.F. (hubby), and we got crazy and partied as hard as we did back in 1999. An excellent weekend.

  1. When I first saw the new above the knee boots at the stores I really wasn’t sure about the trend, but I love the way you wore your purple suede ones with a pretty mini dress. I think it’s a great look and I’m looking forward to seeing more outfits with those statement boots!

  2. What a gorgeous color on you! Glad to hear you partied it up like it was 1999. I find really letting loose every now and again to be therapeutic. And may I just say that your hair looks fabulous and sexy as hell. Your hubby’s a lucky man! xx

  3. You look sooooooooooooooooo beautiful in that dress. wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.
Love everything: your wavy long hair, the dress, and those gorgeous boots. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. A total inspiration!!!

  4. your hair looks lovely when it’s curly!!! it looks lovely straight as well, but you have a great curl to it that not everyone is so lucky to have.

i personally love the colors. black is great and i always rock black a lot, but i’ve been trying to consciously insert more color into my wardrobe. so this makes me very happy to see. colorful shoes are AWESOME! and i think you wear them really well here. =) glad to hear you partied hard and had a great night.

    1. Thank you Kristy…but do know those curls are manufactured, doll!

I’m so bad about the black too…as you all can see. I go through phases with it, though. Color is always good, but I really have to be in the mood.

  5. Ah, I’m currently obsessed with thigh-high boots (I’m short, and I’m convinced they make my legs look longer if I wear them with a shorter dress: sounds very “Pretty Woman” when you write it down, but as you’ve shown here, it looks anything but when it’s done right), and with purple ones in particular: I haven’t found any in my price range that ship to the UK yet, but you’ve convinced me to continue with the search. They look perfect with this dress and scarf too: love it!

    1. Hi Amber, thanks hon. The key is definitely to pair OTK boots with a dress that only shows a sliver of skin on the thigh…they would look a little too streetwalker if the dress were shorter.

Topshop has some great pairs…don’t know if they’re in your range, but they’re not crazy expensive, and are worth saving for, for sure.

      Thanks for your comment!

  6. Beautiful! I love seeing color-saturated outfits like this amid a fashion season of neutrals. That scarf is a marvel. Have I missed a V. long shimmering healthy hair care tutorial somewhere, and can you tell us about how you did the waves, or are they something a girl has to be born with?

  7. I think there is a mysterious purple consipiracy because I took a look at my closet the other day and purple is dominating!! LOL

I absolutely love the boots and you had no choice but to party hard in them! That’s what they were made for! πŸ™‚

    1. Ha…the Beautiful Ones! Love it. Yeah, my only problem is I never forgot how to party…I do like a night of music and martinis!

  8. V-you are looking so fierce, purple is one of my faves and you look amazing in it! Those boots and the spike cuffs are something else – love it all!
Hope you had a wicked time doll.

  9. absolutely stunning! I adore the purple ,the dress, the tassel on your bag, you basically πŸ˜‰ hope you`re having a good week! sending you big hugs all the way from Oslo

  10. I’m late to the party, it seems, but I’ll add my virtual applause to the rest. You. Look. Fierce. V! I’d type more, but that would get in the way of my scrolling up to enjoy this ensemble, again.

p.s. ‘Any chance you’ll take a mo’ to share your hair-curling secrets?

    1. A-Dubs, thanks babe! I will share my hair curling secrets very soon. Lord…add it to the list! So much to write/shoot/record, so dang little time! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Ooohhh, I love purple! This outfit rocks! Your purple hues match really well. I love the spiked bracelets, and of course, the boots. I have a pair of purple suede boots myself, but they’re not OTK, the leg of them are made of this knit sweater material, and they have more bluish tones in them.

    1. Aw, thank you Julia! I hope you know how much I’m missing seeing your beautiful face on your blog. I know you have a lot of changes happening, but I still wish I could have a peek!

  12. Totally rocking the purple! I love. I don’t feel like I wear any color anymore. I absolutely couldn’t pull this off. And here you are, working it ever so effortlessly. Just divine!

    1. Thanks, Casee. But I think being able to pull off an outfit is really all a state of mind. As cute as you are, I’m sure you could!

  13. Stunning boots! They are so pretty, and the colour is to die for. Despite owning lots and lots of shoes, I don’t own any over the knee boots. Terrible eh?!

    Lovely blog btw πŸ™‚

  14. Mmmmkay….

Sorry. In the midst of composing myself. Just picked up my jaw off the floor because like DAYUM do you look A-freaking-MAZING!!! This is purple done right. + LOVE the wavy tresses!!! Looks like your hubby had quite a sexy companion too πŸ˜‰

  15. V!! I’ve been sooo missing out on the blog scene, I love this, I’m always excited to add some color to Fall, I struggle so hard with a mostly grey wardrobe 😐

  16. I have very similar boots that are deep red but they go up to the thigh! They are equally as practical as yours.

I like how you worked in similar colors throughout the look.
