This is a true story.
I’ve been test driving HYPEED to see if it’s worth the hype (um, not really), and while perusing there, I spotted the achingly beautiful Julia of Porcelain Complexion.
Well. Y’all know I love my pale sisters. And I am a redhead waiting to happen, so I didn’t even have to move past Julia’s gorgeous head to have a major girl crush. Aside from being super sweet, and having mad style (and some killer rings), Julia owns a pre-loved (love that) clothing boutique in New Zealand. Over the last few weeks, we’ve traded comments on our blogs, and I’ve gotten to know her a bit.
Not long ago, Julia did a post called Line of the Times, in which she wore a totally adorable black and white striped dress with a scarf she knitted herself. I commented that I was crazy about the dress, and then to my surprise, Julia graciously offered to fetch one for me in NZ. I accepted. Last week my little care package arrived, and Julia was not only spot-on on the sizing, she enclosed the sweetest card and wrapped it all up in a pink bow for me. Thank you, my lovely Julia! Mwah!
So here we are in different continents, countries, hemispheres, and seasons. A dress twinned through space, time, and blogs. Don’t you just love it?!
Julia and me in the same Glassons striped dress. Photo of Julia is from her blog, porcelain-complexion.blogspot.com.
I adore this dress because it makes me think of Julia and how kind she was to go through such effort to send it to me. And it’s already my lucky dress! You’ll have to come back for part two of this tale tomorrow and find out why.

WOoow AND beyond your post’s “Fashion sorority” vibrancy I have to say that the way this dazzling light caresses your “Trendy Zebra-esques” legs on the last picture sounds utterly sensual . . . ps: These black stripes all the more suits you so as they ideally are in harmony with your dark mane Dear !!!

To all my lovely readers…thank you for your exceedingly kind comments, and for checking out Julia’s blog, Porcelain Complexion. I’m glad you enjoyed reading this tale as much as I enjoyed recounting it. As many of you said, what a testament to the connectedness and power of our blogging community!
Forgive my brevity in responding…it seems the barometric pressure of late is wreaking havoc on me. Maybe I need to put the dress on again and change my luck!

The dress is great – the sort of thing you could wear to almost any occasion. Now maybe she could send you that scarf pattern, you could publish it here on your blog, and we’d all be set! (Well, we’d have to find an equally pretty stripe dress too.)

How unbelievably sweet is that! Ironically, I found your blog via the jealous friend Friday post, and I have to say that if we as bloggers approach each other with this type of support and love (so sappy), there is truly no room for jealousy! I am by no means above jealousy, but I make a conscious decision to admire and be inspired rather than be jealous, and this is exactly why…you’ve made a true friend…
