Today was a day for two oldies-but-goodies that inhabit my closet. The slim-cut pants have been hanging round for about 10 years. Maybe you’re thinking, but where are the safety pins?
Ah, there they are! On oldie-but-goodie number two: my Dolce & Gabbana slingbacks. And no, I did not pin these myself. I actually bought them that way. When I was 15, I had a vintage leather jacket (that I stole from my dad) with a tight row of dozens of safety pins going up one sleeve. That was my best DIY, I think. Wish I still had the jacket, but since I don’t, when I need to channel my inner rebellious teen, I rock the Dolce’s and crank The Cult.

Aw, thank you hon! But if anyone has rings (and an entire jewelry chest) that rock, it’s YOU!!!
Gorgeous! Too bad about not having the jacket anymore – but I think the shoes do the job nicely. Hinged ring is perfection.

My sister has d&g’s ankle boot version of those, it’s a whole row of safety pins going up the front, but I think I prefer your style, a little more subtle.
I really really love your rings, I’m still looking for a good ring that goes beyond the knuckle
Thanks Liz…I never saw the boot version, but they sound magnificent!
I recently did a post about these kinds of rings…you might not have seen it. Maybe it will help: http://www.gritandglamour.com/2010/05/20/finger-armor/

Great shoes! And that ring is so fierce!
I’m a Rosebud too!
Thank you so much Liz. I jumped over to your blog too…love the photo of your nails in that bright OPI orange. I’m a total polish nut! Especially OPI.
This has to be my favorite look ever from you. Bloody creative! I used to play with safety pins when I was younger too, but I never thought about the shoe customisation -only bags and tshirts. Gorgeous, and I’d wear those in the office too. Understated chic at its best! like I said to Kristy Elena, my favorite looks are like yours and hers, where you dont need to flash the cash to look amazing! xx
Lady Noix…thank you so much! I appreciate your comment and compliment. I am so very flattered!
I love this all black look. It’s so chic yet edgy at the same time. I think your shoes may have inspired me to try a little DIY of my own with some safety pins and leather. I also love that you chose a sleek ponytail but gave it a bit of a twist by tying a second elastic around the middle. It just polishes the whole look off. As do those amazing rings…jealous!! You look amazing xx

Aw Brooke, thank you sweetie! Sometimes I do feel the need to live (and dress) on the edge. The great thing about this outfit is it is super comfy and doubles as work-appropriate.
I hope you do a safety pin DIY. Would love to see it.
