WVW: Shredtastic*

Let me tell you a story.

Once upon a time, there was a fashionista named V who counted champagne, stilettos, and trolling people.com amongst the  pleasantries of life. One day she spotted a photo of Miley Cyrus in a shredded tunic and was besotted. She decided that she must have one too, and thus embarked on a quest for this holy grail. She Googled and Googled, but could not source the shredded tunic until blog commenter Irina rescued V with a tip: Raquel Allegra.

Excited, V Googled some more, but could not acquire the covetable Allegra top…it was sold out! Thankfully, another clever commenter named Jemina suggested Etsy, and although V’s quest for the Allegra was unavailing, she was triumphant in the discovery and acquisition of another shredtastic number by Dalat Designs. And here it is:

“Limu Kala” hand-shredded dress/tunic by Dalat Designs, Ann Taylor cami, Celsius ruched leggings, Wittner shoes.

The End.

  1. I love it when pictures have a story like ancient buildings. I so enjoyed reading this, my dear!
And your outfit is so pretty on you. Have a bright and happy Monday!;-)

  2. Oh, this outfit is fantastic, Vahni. The Etsy tunic is such a great substitute for the Raquel Allegra top. But I can’t help but wonder how to wash it? Wouldn’t it just rip in the washing machine?

    1. Thank you Irina! I should have also thanked you for the Raquel Allegra tip. I learned something new!

The top can only be handwashed. That said, I think I’d still put it in a lingerie bag and then hand wash it. We’ll see how it goes!

    1. Haaaaa! Thanks Celine. Sorry. Yes, I bought the only one, but Flower also has some other really cool shredded tops.

    1. Thank you Ms. Brit!

My family has a saying: “What Vahni wants, Vahni gets.” It’s mostly true. Maybe that’s because once I get something in my head, I rarely take no for an answer! I work hard, play hard, and shop hard.

  3. I am not bold enough to post a photo like #2, but I am loving that photo. it makes me want to buy a shredded tunic and pose like that all the time.
    Fricken awesome!!

    1. Thank you Suze! That’s me “embracing my curves.” That photo is my fave too. Maybe it means I finally love my…behind.

  4. Fabulous!! I love the grunge glam look too and you rock it 😉 oh Did you know that ever since you sported that arm cuff on your other post, i have been hunting ebay for one?! am obessed with it now! 😉

  5. That top looks fantastic on you!! I’ve been wanting to try some DIY shredding lately. There was a good post about how to do it on Childhood Flames that looks easy (but time consuming!)

    1. Hi Birdie, welcome, and thank you! Been thinking of exploring shredding myself, thanks for the source. When I get some time, I may give it a whirl. Let me know if you do. Would love to see the finished result and hear your take.

    1. Thank you! You’re right about the grit and glamour…sometimes it takes a lot of diggin’ to strike gold…or chartreuse!

  6. Wow, what a beautiful top! You’re looking so ethereal in these photos!
And you’ve been in my reader for a while, which I used in lieu of Bloglovin.
