Let’s talk about what inspires us.

What celebrity (celebrities) do you look to for fashion inspiration?
Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton of Sass & Bide (fashion designers/celebrities) absolutely captivate me. They are otherworldly genius. Celebs that get my fashion respect include Victoria Beckham, Diane Kruger, and Charlize Theron (except for this year’s Oscars dress. Guess everyone has a bad fashion day).
When it comes to your own personal style what inspires you?
I’m inspired by contradiction and boldness. I like contrasts and a little shock value. To me, the most fascinating aspect of modern fashion is the way basics are being reconfigured, deconstructed, and placed in juxtaposition to things they wouldn’t normally be seen with.
How do you hope to inspire your readers with your posts?
My blog is simply a place for me to explore the things I love most: writing, fashion, pop culture, music, art, relationships. If I inspire someone instead of pissing them off, it’s a good day.
Outside the fashion and beauty realm who inspires you most?
My mom, followed by my niece and nephew. The kids inspire me, make me forget about everything else, and force me to be creative…like making paper sailboats, origami. Which I cannot seem to master. But anyway.
In the realm of Idol… what song(s) inspire you?
Song wise, right now I’m loving Bruised Water (Chicane and Natasaha Bedingfield, Michael Woods Full Vocal Remix), Revolver (Madonna/David Guetta One Love Remix), and always inspiring (in the gym, at the minimum) is To Victory (Philip Steir’s Sacrifice for Sparta Remix).
