Expat Achievements

It’s been a big week for this expat, a big week indeed. First, my two-year temporary visa was FINALLY granted! Yeeeeeeehaw! It only took six months, one incompetent (and later fired) migration agent, $2,500+, a gazillion photocopies, two trips to DIAC, about 20 phone calls, a mountain of paperwork, and an assload of stress. Channeling Olivia…you don’t need a trust fund!

Love her or hate her, the one thing you can’t diss Olivia Palermo for is her amazing style. The girl has it in spades. Period. Like most celebutante-socialites, Olivia is privy not only  to primo designer goods and insider connections, but enough cash to be able to afford YSL pumps and the like, regularly. Granted, [...]

They say necessity is the mother of invention. Well, what I’m about to ramble on about is no new invention, but for these times, it is indeed novel. The latest “shopping” concept being piloted in Australia and the U.S. is swapping. Yes, I said swapping. Trading your stuff for someone else’s. We all have a [...]

Beeeeyooootiful

Just spotted this: At first glance, it’s wild and I’m not sure about the boots. On second glance, it works. Sexy, stylish—but not trashy or overt. I love it, and I like the kiss of pink neon on her toes; always fantastic when paired with a neutral. This outfit makes me long for the U.S., [...]
